Janica her short fiction films express a very personal universe and are characterized by a strong visual language, often telling the story without any spoken dialogues.

The films have been shown all over the world on festivals and television, in museums and galleries. They feature in the collection of the Cinemathèque de la Danse in Paris and of the Netherlands Film Museum (Eye Film Institute) in Amsterdam.

Poetic film without dialogue about a woman working in a fish-factory. Commissioned by NPS Television. With Johanna ter Steege, Freerk Bos and Pape Assane Sow.

Screen-Play for Three (script and direction)

A surrealistic film inspired by “La femme et son ombre” by Paul Claudel, Tokyo 1922. Developed during DasArts (De Amsterdamse School, Advanced Research in Theatre and Dance Studies) under the guidance of Ritsaert ten Cate.

Fenceless in Grace (script, direction, leading role)

Associative film taking place in an indeterminate area, where the inhabitants are displaced and relationships distorted. The film was shot at a former military base in Germany and made during DasArts under the guidance of Ritsaert ten Cate.
